About us

The Silk Road Freeride Competition is a natural next step for the freeride community in Central Asia. For years, the local riders wanted to show their skills to a bigger audience. Moreover did they want to share their freeride terrain with the rest of the world. As a foundation, Ryce Travel initiated the project. Ryce Travel directors Maksat Aitkulov (Kyrgyzstan) and Peter Hofman (the Netherlands) called in Stacy Bare (Adventure Not War) and Olaf Sueters (Gear4Guides) for help. A collaboration between several powder hounds to maximize their impact and to launch the world’s greatest, most diverse and challenging ski competition. Silk Road Freeride. 

Our platform is focused on raising awareness for skiing in lesser knows regions along the ancient Silk Road. We are doing that by hosting freeride competition but also by providing information about the corresponding countries. In the near future we will also organize trainings and tours. All as a non-profit organization.
